2022 National Food Safety Summit set to hold in Abuja on Thursday

Abuja, July 27, 2022 (NAN) Organizers of the
National Food Safety Summit, says all is now set for 2022 edition of the event expected to hold in Abuja on Thursday.

Mr Joe Oduah, the Chief Executive Officer, RCL Industrial Safety Centre told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the objective of the Food Safety Summit was to educate participants on all stages of food processing.

“Do you know that millions of people get sick from food borne illness yearly and thousands die.

“Do you know that hazardous materials contaminating food supply can cost millions and damage company’s reputation.

“The food safety summit is therefore here to help in all stages of food processing from growers, manufacturers, transporters to the kitchen and from low to high risks food handlers and managers,” he said.

Oduah stressed that participants would learn and understand how to implement modern and the best food safety measures.

He added that food handlers would also be educated on basic principles of food hygiene, policies and guidelines.

He noted that certificates would be issued to attendees, noting that interested participants can log on to foodsafety.org.ng or call 08099700070, 09057666625 for more information about the event.

NAN reports that the 2022 National Food Safety Summit is scheduled to hold at the Federal Ministry of Environment, Maitama, Abuja on Thursday and at the Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos on Aug. 28.

The event is powered by RCL City Centre in collaboration with NISCN, NAFDAC, Federal Ministry of Health, FCCPC, SON and the Lagos State Safety Commission. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
